Woman, Bird and Child series - 1
Using rhythmic swirls, the artist explores the subject of spiritual freedom for an Indian woman. The complex interweave of liberation and commitment becomes symbolized as the bird and the child, respectively. Mother, child and birds are nestled and united in one body, echoing the poet Rabindranath Tagore's words: Not for me the deliverance that comes from renunciation; for me,the embrace of freedom in a thousand bonds of delight. |
