Using his own adaptation of the Japanese technique of suminagashi
(marbling) the artist enters a state of inward concentration and guides
the accidental formations of pigment on water with hand movements to express
experiences of subliminal or spiritual consciousness. The painting has been
titled by the Mother, spiritual collaborator of Sri Aurobindo and head of
the Sri Aurobindo ashram.
